In Memory of Ennis Newman[ Emcee, Poet, Singer, Producer, Actor, and Educator are but some of the disciplines of Avenging Wind (also known as Fathom 9). Hailing from the Blues City – Memphis, TN; Avenging Wind is no rookie when it comes to performing live. Opening for legends such as: KRS-One, underground legend El da Sensei, and Sadat X (of Brand Nubian), clearly says it all.]

Its no good way to say good bye forever. I’m writing from a place that summons inspiration and motivation in acknowledgement of a creative soul. The art of Ennis O. Newman known to many as Fathom 9 or Avenging Wind friend to many and twice as mysterious to all. I used to tell him he had the complexity of a Jazz musician in a Batman outfit disguised as Bruce Wayne. I never say good byes to well so i’m writing a collection of respectful salutes to a man who lived to design his self in word and sound.

New Music Journal: Avenging Wind – DumpTruckBlues: Battle Cry Of The Wanderlust

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , on October 23, 2013 by Brother Perspective Magazine

You can’t buy talent and after listening to Dump Truck Blues last night the music world should be warned that solid feel good music does exist. Avenging Wind of the the Delta Quadrant has created a melodic escapade through time. His 3 part narrative of sound is something reminiscent of early 90’s Hip Hop mixed with the soul of Earth Wind and Fire (yes this album is taking you on a ride). The album times out just long enough for you to feel the many abilities of the Blues Man that range from Emcee, Producer and Harmonious vocalist, and when you listen you will learn what mean when I say this dudes got range in his ability. November 9th is the only date that the artist has presented to the over-saturated internet market of contemporary digital listeners, but he has hinted at possible single “leaks” this coming week.
